Kitchener Public Library offers several online services which you can access from any Internet connection.
Reference Services
You can get real-time, live answers from a librarian through our online chat reference service. You can also email a question to KPL staff using our Ask A Librarian service.
Research Tools
Need to find in-depth information? You can use KPL's extensive collection of databases to find reliable, credible research on just about any topic from the comfort of your own home.
You can also access the library's collection of Great Sites, a large list of useful and informative websites compiled by KPL staff.
And if you are looking for historical and heritage information, be sure to check out our digital archives, which provide a unique glimpse at the history of Kitchener and the surrounding region.
Books, CDs, DVDs and more
To search for materials you wish to borrow, and to place holds, click on the Catalogue tab at the top of the screen to access the library's online catalogue.
KPL also has an ever-growing multimedia collection. Click here to download e-books, e-audio books, music and video to your computer, mobile device or MP3 player.
Library Services
Do you need a library card? You can apply for a library card online. If you have a library card, you can use it to view your record to check your due dates, renew items, freeze holds and more.
