What are Downloadable Audio Books?

Downloadble audio books, sometimes referred to as eAudio books, or electronic audio books, are audio books which have been designed to be played on either a computer or MP3 player. Instead of listening to a book on CD or cassette, users download a file from the eAudio Book services provided by the library.

You can download books anywhere, anytime, to any computer. You can even transfer the files to your MP3 player, and take the books with you wherever you go!

All you need is a computer with Internet access, and a valid Kitchener Public Library card and PIN.

All books are narrated, in some cases by well-known celebrities. Downloadable audio books are perfect for anyone who has visual impairment or other difficulties reading. They are also great to listen to on long road trips, while exercising, or any other casual activity where you may be listening to your MP3 player.

A list of compatible MP3 players is provided for each service.
