Homework Computers

There are several computers at Central Library, and each of our Community Library locations, which you can use for up to 2 hours per day. All you need is your library card!

Articles & Encyclopedias

Do you need to do research for a project or report? You can download articles, and discover information on just about any topic, using our databases.

Britannica Online

A fully-searchable encyclopedia divided into sections for children, teens, and adults. Use Britannica anywhere, at any time, on any device.

Canadian Encyclopedia

Information in French and English about Canada and the world, including timelines of Canadian and world events.

Canadian Newsstream

Full text of over 190 Canadian newspapers, including the Waterloo Region Record. Updated daily.

Grzimek’s Animal Life Encyclopedia

The fully-searchable, electronic version of the popular encyclopedia which spans the animal kingdom. Contains detailed information about species discovery, evolution, habitat, behavior, diet and much more.

Study Rooms

There are several study rooms on the second floor at Central Library, perfect for working on group projects or for studying. These rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis. If it’s empty, go ahead and use it!

Central Library also has a study room which can be reserved by calling 519-743-7502.

Located on the upper level, this room seats up to 6 people, and can be reserved for up to 2 hours. Your group must have a minimum of 2 people to reserve the room. 

 

Tutoring

Need extra help? Tutoring Beyond Borders is a local not-for-profit organization that offers free one-on-one tutoring to students in Grades 7-12.
