Join Nick Richbell, Head, Special Collections and Archives, and PhD candidate at the University of Waterloo, to learn about seances and disembodied spirits that appeared in private homes in Southwestern Ontario. From St. Catharines to Kitchener, seances were not uncommon. Nick will share their history as documented in the archival collections of the University of Waterloo and introduce you to two mediums, William Cartheuser and Thomas Lacey, and the spirits who communicated through them.
