Returns & Renewals
Returning Borrowed Items
Borrowed items may be returned to any Kitchener Public Library location. You may return your items in person during library hours, or drop them in the outside book drop.
Outside book drops are available at every Kitchener Public Library location, and can be used 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Most borrowed items can be returned to the outside book drops. Musical instruments must be returned to the Circulation Desk during library hours.
Renewing Borrowed Items
Renewing the items you have borrowed allows you to keep them longer. There are several ways to renew:
- In person at the library
- By telephoning any Kitchener Public Library location
- Using the library catalogue
To renew using the library catalogue, sign in to your account and view your items checked out. Select the box next to each item you want to renew, and click the Renew Marked button.
Most borrowed items may be renewed twice. The new due date will be based on the date you renew the item.
Some items are not renewable, including:
- Any item that has a hold on it
- Express Books and Express DVDs
- Items that have already been renewed twice
